1 John 3:18
18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other;
let us show the truth by our actions.

Isaiah 1:17
Learn to do good  -  Seek justice.
Help the oppressed
  -  Defend the cause of orphans.

SMILE
It’s amazing what a smile and making eye contact, with someone will do
  -  Is a Smile enough?

Hello I said.

What if I stop to say Hello.
What if I ask, "how are you and stand still a minute or two to Listen"
I heard some things, about pain and hurt, difficulty with a son.
I said I will pray for you
 and I walk away.

I'll Pray for you I said.

I stopped to say hello and listened and heard the hurt.
I'll pray I said and walked away.
That night I prayed for God to touch that family

Was that enough?
James 1:22-25 - Says
New Living Translation (NLT)
22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must DO what it says.
Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

I must point out that Prayer is very important, not only important but very necessary.

But if we thought the above through for a moment, as we stood still to listen to someone in need and....... I sincerely prayed........

But what else did I do?

Do I know who this person was besides their name?

 What if I said;
"How Can I Help You - Can I Phone You Sometime - How About a Coffee this Week"

"Do You know how much of a difference that would have made to that person"

The above examples are true for all of us:
Children, Youth, Sunday Schools, Youth Groups, Adults, School Groups, Moms & Dads

How are we responding to the needs within the Church, such as during or after the Sunday Service?

Such as the needs of:
Sunday School Assistance - Baby Sitting
Youth Service - Ushering - Library Helpers - Music Ministry
Oh there is much more!

Do you see the strangers or new comers in Church, or those who seem to be standing by themselves?
Walk up and share a word or two. And if you feel you heard of a need, don't stop, just to listen:

BUT MAKE A PROMISE & Give Yourself Away

WHAT ABOUT THE NEEDS IN OUR COMMUNITY?
The Beauty of His Love

I look out to see
The rising sun in all its amazing beauty
To warm the earth and our hearts
Only to set again in all its glory
Then darkness comes
What do I remember, what did I do that day
Where were my thoughts – my heart
Where did I go in such a rush
Head down deep in thought I walk
Did I hear the cry of the child I just passed
That lady all her possessions on 4 tiny wheels
Did I speak to say hello
Did I smile and look into her eyes
Did I stop to give a hug
Did I lift my eyes to the hills
Where Jesus is found
When I wanted to hide from all the hurt and pain
Did I ask Him to hold me for a while
Did I take time to listen and feel His warmth
Did I fall on my knees and give Him my heart
Do I cling to my Father in heaven
Then a whispering voice deep in my soul
In silence I stop to listen
Ever so gentle a song of praise stirs my heart
It’s my Father who is calling me
Come take my hand we’ll walk together a while
We talk , so much I have say and to ask
Softly He tells me - I know, I have heard you my child
Give me all your cares and your heart
Each care, each thought I will touch
My heart rises in pure joy
To know that my Heavenly Father has never left me
With all my heart I thank you Jesus
Each morning when I wake let me be still
That I would hear your loving voice as you say
Come lets walk and do things together
Let’s skip, jump, love and laugh that others may see
That we belong together now and for eternity
Wow what a Savior

Faith without Good Deeds Is Dead

14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

18 Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”

19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
20 How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

21 Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. 23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”He was even called the friend of God. 24 So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.

25 Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. 26 Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.
One day I had a coffee with a friend, yes at Timmies, followed with two other friends Joel and Dave. Some of my own feelings in this conversation came from the 17 years I spent doing crisis intervention as a volunteer with the RCMP Victim Services Unit. Much of what I dealt with came with a great deal of pain. Throughout this conversation we shared the great needs within our Churches and in our community here in Prince George and how we need to respond to these needs. We agreed that it is not acceptable to just stand by and do nothing.
We know it is not for us to judge what any individual is gifted to do, but how do YOU respond to the above verses in James 2

Our Journey
From the beginning of life we are on a Journey. Depending on our age we are all at different stages on our Journey. This journey will have us walk through many valleys and yes we will reach mountain tops. The valleys when we came close to despair, the mountains tops when life through God exhilarated us.
Through Our Lord Jesus we have a tremendous GIFT to share - THE GIFT OF YOURSELF!
We pray that you will become aware of the great need in
each of our communities.
We challenge you, that you would share "Yourself" with someone who needs a hand up. Don't go into seclusion - don't withdraw!
GIVE YOURSELF AWAY!
I Love My Attorney
After living what I felt was a 'decent' life, my time on earth came to the end.

The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a court house.

The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defence table.

As I looked around I saw the 'prosecutor'.

He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.

I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt I knew Him.

The corner door opened and there appeared the Judge in full flowing robes.

He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room. I couldn't take my eyes off of Him.

As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, 'Let us begin.'

The prosecutor rose and said, 'My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell.'

He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole, and In the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible perversions that were once in my life, and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank.

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at My Attorney who sat there silently not offering any form of defence at all.

I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had do one some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, 'This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise.'

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench. The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward.

As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and majesty.

I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Saviour.

He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, 'HI, DAD,' and then He turned to address the court.

'Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, the wage of sin is death, and this man deserves to be punished.'

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, 'However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and he has accepted Me as his Saviour, so he is Mine.'

My Lord continued with, 'His name is written in the Book of Life, and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet. This man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy.'

As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said, 'There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've done it all..'

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from His lips.....

'This man is free. The penalty for him has already been paid in full. Case dismissed.'

I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, 'Have you ever lost a case?'

Christ lovingly smiled and said, 'Everyone that has come to Me and asked Me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, ~Paid In Full.'

If you do not pass this along to 15 people immediately, absolutely nothing will happen.

Passing this on to anyone you consider a friend, (as I have done here), will bless you both.

'Stop tell ing God how big your storm is. Instead, tell the storm how big your God is!
